Adding links and bookmarks
Hyperlink
Hyperlinks are used to link between separate documents to direct readers from the current page to another or to open a new browser window to view a document.
Hyperlinks can be inserted within the texts and will lead the readers to specific destinations.
Hyperlink to web address
- Select the text to be hyperlinked as a block.
- Click Insert-Hyperlink.
- Select Web Address on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
- Enter a URL in the input field and then click OK.
Hyperlink to email address
- Select the text to be hyperlinked as a block.
- Click Insert-Hyperlink.
- Select Email on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
- Enter an email address in the input field and then click OK.
Hyperlink to bookmark
- Select the text to be hyperlinked as a block.
- Click Insert-Hyperlink.
- Select Bookmark on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
- Select one of the existing bookmarks in the bookmark list and then click OK.
Bookmark
This feature is useful when you want to bookmark a reference section or remember the section you were working on last time.
To insert a bookmark in the designated location:
- Select the text or the object you want to insert a bookmark.
- Click Insert-Bookmark.
- Enter the name of the bookmark on the Bookmark dialog box.
- Click Insert. The bookmark will be added to the list, and a bookmark icon will appear next to the selected text or object.
To jump to the bookmarked target within the document:
- Click Insert-Bookmark.
- Select the bookmark from Bookmark List to which you wish to jump on the Bookmark dialog box.
- Click Move. It moves to the bookmark you have selected.
To delete a bookmark from the document:
- Click Insert-Bookmark.
- Select the bookmark you wish to delete from Bookmark List of the Bookmark dialog box.
- Click Delete to delete the selected bookmark.
