Adding links and bookmarks

Hyperlink

Hyperlinks are used to link between separate documents to direct readers from the current page to another or to open a new browser window to view a document.

Hyperlinks can be inserted within the texts and will lead the readers to specific destinations.

Hyperlink to web address

  1. Select the text to be hyperlinked as a block.
  2. Click Insert-Hyperlink.
  3. Select Web Address on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
  4. Enter a URL in the input field and then click OK.

Hyperlink to email address

  1. Select the text to be hyperlinked as a block.
  2. Click Insert-Hyperlink.
  3. Select Email on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
  4. Enter an email address in the input field and then click OK.

Hyperlink to bookmark

  1. Select the text to be hyperlinked as a block.
  2. Click Insert-Hyperlink.
  3. Select Bookmark on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
  4. Select one of the existing bookmarks in the bookmark list and then click OK.

 

 

Bookmark

This feature is useful when you want to bookmark a reference section or remember the section you were working on last time.

To insert a bookmark in the designated location:
  1. Select the text or the object you want to insert a bookmark.
  2. Click Insert-Bookmark.
  3. Enter the name of the bookmark on the Bookmark dialog box.
  4. Click Insert. The bookmark will be added to the list, and a bookmark icon will appear next to the selected text or object.
To jump to the bookmarked target within the document:
  1. Click Insert-Bookmark.
  2. Select the bookmark from Bookmark List to which you wish to jump on the Bookmark dialog box.
  3. Click Move. It moves to the bookmark you have selected.
To delete a bookmark from the document:
  1. Click Insert-Bookmark.
  2. Select the bookmark you wish to delete from Bookmark List of the Bookmark dialog box.
  3. Click Delete to delete the selected bookmark.
