Inserting pictures, hyperlinks and memos
Insert Picture
You can insert a picture file of choice in your worksheet.
Insert an image from your computer
- Click the place where you want to insert an image
- Click Insert-Image or click the Image
icon on the toolbar.
- Click the button to search a file under Computer on the Insert Image dialog box.
- Browse the file you want to insert then click the Open button on the dialog box.
- Click the Insert button on the Insert Image dialog box.
Insert an image from a website
- Click the place where you want to insert an image
- Click Insert-Image or click the Image
icon on the toolbar.
- Click the Web Address radio button on the Insert Image dialog box.
- Enter web address in the Web Address field or paste the address copied from a website.
- Click the Insert button on the Insert Image dialog box.
Hyperlink
Hyperlinks are used to link between separate documents to direct readers from the current page to another or to open a new browser window to view a document.
Hyperlinks can be inserted into the text and will lead the readers to specific destinations.
Hyperlink to a web address
- Select the text to be hyperlinked.
- Click Insert-Hyperlink.
- Select Web Address on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
- Enter a URL in the input field and then click OK.
Hyperlink to an email address
- Select the text to be hyperlinked.
- Click Insert-Hyperlink.
- Select Email on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
- Enter an email address in the input field and then click OK.
Hyperlink to the current document
- Select the text to be hyperlinked.
- Click Insert-Hyperlink.
- Select Current Document on the Link To area of the Hyperlink dialog box.
- Select one of the existing sheets in the list and then click OK.
Memo
You can type comments about complicated calculations to provide information about cells. You can insert one memo for one cell.
Insert Memo
- Select a cell where you want to insert a memo.
- Click Insert-Memo.
- Type information inside the memo box.
Press <Enter> to break a line in the memo box. - Click anywhere in the edit window or press <Esc> to exit from the memo box.
Edit Memo
- Select a cell with a memo.
- Right click on the mouse and click Edit Comment from the context menu.
The cursor moves on the memo box to allow you to edit the memo. - Click anywhere in the edit window or press <Esc> to exit from the memo box.
You can edit, display, or delete comments using the context menus that appear when you right-click on a cell with a memo.
